Remedial instruction can help struggling learners shore up their basic skills. This extra- support can help them catch up with their peers. The system of remedial teaching is practiced to make up the deficiency of slow learners especially from the disadvantaged group. The extra intelligent students of the same class area devised to assist their less privileged class mates. The co-operation of the parents is sought for conducting remedial classes on holidays for weak students. The committee has divided the class hours and selected faculty members from each department. Highest priority is given to the students belonging to the SC, ST, OBC and OEC categories.
The college is having a UGC approved remedial coaching centre for SC / ST, backward, minorities and girl students of the college. The centre is financially supported by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and it provides special coaching for the backward students in their regular studies. Muhammed Basheer. C, Asst. Professor is the co ordinator of this centre. Additional classes, course materials and other supports are provided by the centre, to improve the study conditions of the backward students.
